Usage Agreement for Self-Guided Jeep Tour
DIY JEEP TOURS is owned and operated by Southeast Tours of Skagway (a member of The Klondike Group, Inc. PO Box 1058 Skagway, Alaska 99840). To contact us call 907-983-3512 or email: owner@southeasttours.com. The information contained in this online rental agreement constitutes the entirety of the rental agreement terms and conditions. By signing and dating this form you are signifying that you agree to fully comply with all the terms and conditions listed in this Agreement. Failure to abide by the terms will result can result in penalty fees and additional charges. The terms are as follows:
- All valuables and personal effects carried by customers and all passengers in the rental vehicle are carried solely at the Customer’s risk.
- Customer shall have proper and valid personal identification.
- Seat belts shall be worn at all times by all vehicle occupants.
- All traffic laws shall be obeyed.
- No alcohol, smoking, or drug use or possession of such, is permitted by Customer and/or passengers at any time or place during the rental.
- Customer confirms his/her proper health and fitness to operate the vehicle. Customer is responsible for all passengers’ compliance with rules and laws of both the United States and Canada.
- Customer shall be responsible for safe operation of the vehicle and for the safety of all occupants/passengers and shall hold the Tour Company, Skagway Jeep Tours, LLC, and all affiliates, harmless from all injuries/damages arising from Customer’s use and/or operation of the vehicle. Customer acknowledges certain inherent risks and assumes all such risks of injury and damages to himself and all occupants/passengers in the vehicle.
- Customer releases Tour Company from any liability occasioned by any and all causes, of every kind and nature except as may be attributed to the sole fault of the Tour Company.
- NO SMOKING of any kind in the vehicle! A cleaning charge will be assessed if you smoke in the vehicle.
- If you don’t return the IPad Audio equipment you will be charged for the replacement cost, plus shipping.
- You will be responsible for any damage done to the interior of the jeep or injuries caused by removing top or doors.
- It is illegal to feed the wildlife or litter in Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory. Violators may be fined.
- You are not allowed to enter the town of Dyea, as it is protected by the NSPS.
- All cruise ship passengers that rent a jeep have a 200 mileage limit. If you go over the limit it is a one dollar per mile mileage fee. FYI, the trip to Emerald Lake is only 72 miles each way.
- You must have the jeep turned back in by 6pm or one hour before your ship departs (whichever is earlier). Winter rentals this does not apply.
- You cannot let any other driver drive the jeep without signing another rental agreement form.
- All drivers must be 21 years old with a valid drivers license and full coverage insurance in place that covers rental cars.
- If you have a Non-USA drivers license you will be required to purchase our additional insurance for an additional fee of $50.
- You are required to purchase gas for the jeep when you return it. If you do not top off the tank a $25.00 service fee, plus the actual cost per gallon needed will be assessed and billed to your credit card.
- All Customers will provide a credit card authorization at the time of the jeep rental as a fully refundable security deposit providing they do not breach the rules of this agreement.
- You must have a passport to enter Canada or for USA citizens a copy of a valid id and an original birth certificate.
- For cruise ship passengers, you can pick up your jeep anytime after 7:30am. The Jeep Lot is located at 2nd and State Street (approximately 2 blocks from the ships).
CRUISE SHIP PASSENGER JEEP DROP OFF INSTRUCTIONS:
Jeep can be picked up at our Jeep Lot located at the corner of 2nd and State Street. It takes 10 to 20 minutes to walk there depending on what dock your ship is located at. If you have a mobility issue or you encounter in-climate weather we advise you to take the city Smart Bus into town. The walk is approximately 2 blocks. As stated above, you can pick up your jeep any time after 7:30am and you must have your jeep back to the lot by 6pm or one hour before your ship departs (whatever is earlier!). Failure to do this will result in us coming out looking for you.
Insurance:
By executing this Agreement and by operating the vehicle, Customer assures Tour Company that Customer has bodily injury and property coverage’s applicable for the rented vehicle at least to the extent of $50,000/$100,000 in liability, and $25,000 for property damages to vehicle which coverage shall be first and primary to any insurance provided by customer.
Indemnity:
Customer releases and hold Tour Company harmless from any injury, damages, or claim of any kind to any person, thing, or property caused in whole or in part by any act or failure of Customer while operating vehicle, or for any other of Customer’s breach of any term in this Agreement. This full indemnity extends to
the limits of any and all claims, settlements, payments, assessments and/or awards as well as all costs and expenses of Customer’s duty for/of a legal defense, defense costs, or Tour Company’s costs, expenses and full attorney’s fees incurred by the Tour Company.
By signing this Online Rental Form you agree to abide by all the terms and conditions listed in this Agreement.
